Master's Degree Thesis: Reciprocal Teaching

Here is my master's degree thesis on using the reciprocal teaching technique in the science classroom.

There are many corollaries between the reciprocal teaching technique and the scientific method.  This strategy is primarily used in the language arts to promote literacy as it focuses on
helping students decode their texts. I applied it to the science classroom. It was clear that the four
reciprocal teaching strategies of predict, clarify, question and summarize could easily parallel the four
steps of the scientific method. To make a prediction is to write a hypothesis. When someone clarifies a topic, it can easily parallel interpreting data and charts. Questioning parallels writing experimental
procedures while summarizing correlates with writing experimental conclusions.
